HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Dr. Ganesh Aruri, is Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering SVCE(A). He has 15 years of experience in teaching, research & Industry. He has published SCI: 2, Scopus: 4, UGC Care: 2 in various Scopus indexed international journals and magazines.
Dr. Ganesh Aruri has done his Post-Graduate JNTU, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh and Ph.D from Anna University, Chennai. He acts as an Instructor for 400+ Students trained by CISCO CCNA every year & 4 Students placed in CISCO Company. He Successfully completed and Received CIT Teacher Training Program (TTP) with Reaching Competence certificate at IIIT-H during summer of 2012. He Successfully achieved the title as “Mobipreneur” Competition conducted by Techhunt 2013 – India’s 1st Talent hunt for entrepreneurship an initiative by Nurture Talent Academy (NTA) & Computer Society of India (CSI) hosted at S V College of Engineering, Tirupathi. He recognized as Reviewer for various International Journals. Successfully completed and awarded Class A during September 23, 2016 – January 13, 2017 conducted as a part of Teacher Training through e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI)at IIT Bombay.

Mission

1 - To impart foundations of applied science and engineering subjects in order to apply, analyze and solve problems in computational aspects.
2 - To inculcate ability in creativity and design of computer support systems and impart knowledge and skills to analyze, design, test and implement various software applications.
3 - To strengthen higher education, research, prepare for globally acclaimed competitions, imbibe in civic-leadership qualities and to trigger social, ethical, holistic and behavioral approach.
Problem Solving Skills: Ability to design and develop computing tools with moderate complexity in the areas pertaining to  database, data analytics, networking, web and app design, IoT and information security with integration.
Professional Skills: Ability to apply standard practices and methods in software project management and software development using suitable programming environments to deliver quality product to the industry.

ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PROBLEM ANALYSIS

Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

CONDUCT INVESTIGATIONS OF COMPLEX PROBLEMS

Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

MODERN TOOL USAGE

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

THE ENGINEER AND SOCIETY

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

OVERVIEW

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Tirupati was formed in the year 2007 and provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching. The Department offers B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees. The Department has a comprehensive curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up-to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments in Computer Science and Engineering. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 2007 and offers UG programme B.TECH.(CSE) with an annual intake of 60 students in 2007, 120 students in 2012, 180 students in 2013, and at present 420 students from the year 2022; P.G. programme M.TECH.(CSE) in the year 2011 with an annual intake of 18 students; Ph.D. programme Ph.D.(CSE) in the year 2016 with an intake of 2 students. The Department is committed to building ethical and competent professionals with the support of highly qualified faculty, innovative novel curricula, and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The curriculum includes courses on the latest technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Internet of Things, Natural Language Processing, and Robotic Process Automation, to name a few.  In addition to the regular curriculum, a value-added course on CISCO, is also offered to equip students with industry-relevent skils and meet contemporary market demands.  The Department is conducting workshops and certifications under Microsoft and IBM. Various activities are conducted in collaboration with professional bodies like CSI, and ISTE along with student branches of IEEE and CSI.  The programs offered by the department enable students to be recruited by distinguished multinational companies namely Amazon, Cisco, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Accenture, CTS, Capgemini, TCS & Misplaced Minds that offer students training programmes, internships, and placements.  The Department has received a grant from AICTE under MODROBS and established a DELL Server to carry out mini-projects, major projects, and research works. Seminars, workshops, theme-based projects, and hackathons are conducted regularly to keep the students abreast of the latest developments in Computer Science and Engineering.  Furthermore, the department has been recognized as a research center by JNTUA, University, and two professors have been recognized as research supervisors.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in 2009. The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a four-year professional undergraduate program with an intake of 420 currently and two-year professional postgraduate program with an intake of 18. Our department offers comprehensive training through full-fledged programs focused on 360-degree career development activities.
We emphasize Programming Skills, Developmental Activities and enhance management efficiency through a case study approach, equipping students with ethical values, principles, and creative knowledge essential for adapting to the ever-changing industrial landscape.
The department boasts a well-equipped laboratory and state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. It has also organized various workshops in collaboration with industry experts, ensuring students receive practical insights and real-world exposure.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that support academic excellence and holistic development. Key infrastructure highlights include:
  1. Spacious Classrooms: Well-furnished, air-conditioned classrooms with modern teaching aids such as LCD projectors and digitalboards to ensure an interactive learning environment.
  2. Seminar Hall: A fully equipped seminar hall with high-quality audio-visual systems, accommodating up to 150 participants for guest lectures, seminars, and conferences.
  3. Computer Lab: A dedicated computer lab with high-speed internet, advanced software, and simulation tools catering to data analysis, business modeling, and decision-making exercises.
  4. Library and Learning Resource Center:A rich collection of management books, journals, and e-resources (including access to databases like ProQuest, and JSTOR) to foster research and learning.
  5. Case Study and Group Discussion Rooms:Specially designed rooms for group discussions, case study analysis, and brainstorming sessions to encourage collaborative learning.
  6. Wi-Fi Campus:High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus for seamless access to digital learning platforms.
  7. Innovation and Incubation Center:A dedicated space to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, providing mentoring and resources for student-led startups and business ideas.
  8. Student Activity Zones:Common areas for extracurricular activities, clubs, and professional networking events to foster peer interaction and leadership development.
  9. Cafeteria and Recreational Facilities:A modern cafeteria offering hygienic and nutritious food, along with recreational spaces for relaxation and informal discussions.
  10. Industry-Institute Collaboration Facilities:A dedicated placement and training center for organizing workshops, recruitment drives, and corporate engagement programs.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering is a center of academic and research excellence, with 9 Ph.D -qualified faculty members. One faculty member, including Dr. N.Sudhakar Reddy serve as research guides under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA), mentoring at least 3 research scholars each. Faculty members are actively engaged in funded projects, have authored several books, and regularly present papers at prestigious Scopus-indexed international and national conferences. The department also emphasizes e-learning and professional development through participation in Faculty Development Programs, webinars, and online courses, while guiding students on contemporary research topics in their major and mini projects.
