OVERVIEW

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering(Cyber Security) at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Tirupati was formed in the year 2021 and provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching. The department offers B.Tech. The department has a comprehensive curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up-to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security). The department of Computer Science & Engineering(Cyber Security) was started in the year 2020 and offering,UG programme B.Tech CSE(Cyber Security) 2021 with an intake of 60 and from year 2022 the intake is 120. This department is dedicated to explore the fascinating fields of Cyber Security issues equipping the students with the knowledge and skills to excel in these rapidly evolving domains.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The curriculum includes foundational courses in computer science, with advanced modules in network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cloud security, and secure software development. Students will also gain exposure to emerging topics such as threat intelligence, blockchain security, and security in IoT (Internet of Things). The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program in CSE (Cyber Security) is a four-year professional undergraduate course. Our department is supported by a highly qualified team of faculty members, all with expertise in Cyber Security and related fields. Our state-of-the-art laboratories and modern infrastructure provide the ideal environment for research and learning. The department regularly organizes various workshops, hackathons, and seminars in collaboration with industry leaders, ensuring students gain practical insights and exposure to the latest advancements in Cyber Security and related domains.

LABORATORIES AND FACILITIES

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art labs and resources to support hands-on learning and research:
  1. Computer Networks Lab: A state-of-the-art lab equipped with high-performance computing resources, enabling students and faculty to run complex network models and simulations. This lab focuses on the design, analysis, and optimization of computer networks, leveraging advanced tools and technologies.
  2. Cryptography & Network Security Lab: This lab specializes in cryptography, cybersecurity, and network security. It is also dedicated to big data analytics, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques to address real-world problems related to information security and privacy.
  3. Python Programming Lab: Focused on the practical application of Python programming, this lab emphasizes robotics, autonomous systems, and their integration with artificial intelligence (AI) for intelligent decision-making and automation.
  4. Data structures Lab: A comprehensive lab designed for studying core concepts in C programming and data structures. It also explores the intersection of cloud computing, AI, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, offering hands-on experience in developing scalable, intelligent systems.

STUDENT CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

The CSE Department encourages students to participate in various clubs and activities that promote learning and innovation:

  1. Cyber Security Club: Organizes workshops, seminars, and hackathons to raise awareness and develop skills in protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, with a focus on the latest trends in cybersecurity practices and technologies.

  2. AI/ML Club: Organizes workshops, seminars, and Hackathon on the latest AI and ML trends.

  3. Robotics Club: Focused on building intelligent robots and autonomous systems.

  4. Data Science Club: Provides hands-on training on data analytics, data visualization, and predictive modeling.

  5. Google Developer Student Club: Provides Workshops, Seminars and Courses and placements

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Dr. Ch. Santhiah, Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) specializing in Cyber Security at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), Tirupati, holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Sri Venkateswara University (SVU). He completed his M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Ananthapuramu, and her B.Tech from JNTUH in 2006. With over 19 years of academic experience, Dr. Chukka Santhaiah has expertise in a wide range of computer science subjects, including Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Internet of Things, Software Engineering and Computer Networks. He has significantly contributed to the academic community, with 25 publications, including 13 patents, and has presented his research at several prestigious international IEEE conferences. Her research is indexed in leading academic databases such as Scopus and SCI. He actively mentors students, ensuring they receive the guidance and support needed to achieve their career goals. He serves as the Faculty Advisor.

    • High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus for seamless access to digital learning platforms.

DEPARTMENT R&D

A center of academic and research excellence is Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security). It has two Ph.D.-holding faculty members, including Dr. R. Swathi, who mentors research scholars as research advisers at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA). The professors regularly present their work at esteemed national and international conferences that are Scopus-indexed, have written several books, and are actively engaged in financed research initiatives. Through active involvement in online courses, webinars, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), the department places a high priority on e-learning and professional development. In order to promote an atmosphere of creativity and development, faculty members also assist students in investigating innovative research subjects for their major and little projects.
