The department focuses its research on Additive Manufacturing, Alternative Fuels, Heat Transfer Enhancement, Composite Materials, Composite Structures etc.

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
Dr. M. Chandra Sekhara Reddy, completed his B.E from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, Bangalore Universit,y M.Tech (Energy Systems) from College of Engineering JNTU, Anantapur and Ph.D from JNTUH Hyderabad in Nano Scale Heat Transfer Specialization. He has been awarded “Best Mechanical Engineering Teacher 2019” from State Award by ISTE –AP Section, sponsored by Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science, Madanapalle. He also received “Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar” from Glacier Journal Research Foundation, Global Management Council, Ahmedabad. He has 22 years of Teaching and Research Experience. He worked at various engineering colleges in different positions like Associate Professor, Professor, Head of the Department. Under his leader ship department received NBA. He is also acting as a Chairmen of Board of Studies and framing syllabus for Mechanical Engineering students at SVCE. He has conducted many training programmes for Engineering students on current technologies.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The Mechanical Engineering department is established with excellent infrastructure facilities for the students. Among them, the Mechanics of Solids Laboratory explores the fundamentals of structural mechanics, and the Manufacturing Technology Laboratory covers advanced manufacturing processes. Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines Laboratory and Thermal Engineering Laboratory investigate fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, respectively. The Heat Transfer Laboratory emphasizes heat exchange phenomena. The Machine Tools Laboratory focuses on precision machining, while Metrology and Measurements Laboratory ensures precision in measurements. The CAD/CAM/CAE Laboratory integrates computer-aided design, manufacturing, and engineering analysis. The Computer Aided Machine Drawing Laboratory refines machine drawing skills, and the 3D Experience Laboratory by Dassault Systems introduces students to advanced 3D modeling and simulation technologies. This infrastructure collectively provides students with a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience across various engineering domains.
